'Shajghar' to be premiered on Channel i on Pahela Baishakh
As part of the Pahela Baishakh celebration Channel i will premier the movie Shajghar. The movie will be aired at 2:30pm on April 14 and will be released at Star Cineplex at Basundhara City on the same day.
The movie revolves around Asif, a theatre buff who had to alienate himself from his passion in his school days. His ultra-conservative father's restrictions did not allow him to pursue theatre. However, years later Asif makes a return to the stage. He falls for Leena, daughter of a district judge and the young couples marry despite her father's disapproval. Asif's undying love for theatre is somehow transmitted to Leena, who begins acting in stage plays. Eventually a new actressbecomes the point of contention between Leena and Asif. Asif is again asked to quit theatre; this time his unborn child is the excuse. The film follows the couple and consequences of their decisions.
Based on a story by popular author Humayun Ahmed, the movie is scripted and directed by Shah Alam Kiron.

The play Ma-ya was aired on April 06, 2007 at 3: 05 pm in the slot. Ma-ya is written and directed by Ashfaq Nipu. Deepa Khondokar, Shamim and Mahmudul Haq Roni play the major roles in the play.
